RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) _ State officials say nearly 11,000 drivers and passengers were cited for seat belt and child passenger safety violations during the 20th anniversary campaign of ``Click It or Ticket'' over the Memorial Day holiday.
The campaign was held May 20 through June 2 and sponsored by the state Transportation Department and the Governor's Highway Safety Program.
State and local officials issued the citations through more than 8,400 checkpoints and stepped-up patrols.
