A former forensic artist met a series of women and asked each to describe the way they look. He was behind a curtain and had no way of seeing them. He asked them to detail everything about their looks - hair length, facial structure, their most prominent features - and then he sketched them.
Before the study, each woman was asked to get to know another participant. They were then asked to describe the face of the person they had gotten to know.
See what happened when the sketches were revealed:
"Women are their own worst beauty critics," Dove says. "Only 4% of women around the world consider themselves beautiful ... we decided to conduct a compelling social experiment that explores how women view their own beauty in contrast to what others see."
