Metallica is finally bringing some metal flavor to Glastonbury. Organizers behind the giant U.K. festival have announced that the band will be the event's third and final headlining act.
The booking marks the first time a metal band has topped the bill at Glastonbury in the festival's 44-year history.
Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich says it's great to know that even after 32 years in the business, they're still able to "knock down doors" they didn't think were open to them. He adds that he and his bandmates didn't have to have a big conversation about the gig because headlining Glastonbury is one of those things they consider a "no-brainer."
Glastonbury 2014 is scheduled to take place June 27th through the 29th. In addition to Metallica, Arcade Fire and Kasabian are also set to headline the famous Pyramid Stage.
