There are a lot of guilty pleasures when it comes to summer: ice cream, pies, popsicles ... and many of the amazing throwback summer anthems you know and love. Music is a big part of the summer, and although there are a lot of amazing new songs to blast at the beach this summer, we cannot forget about all of the sweet summer songs of years past. 

Whether you feel guilty about loving these tunes or not, they continue to make their appearance on your summer playlist one way or another. Kick back, relax, fire up the grill, grab a cool drinks, and check out these 19 throwback guilty pleasure summer anthems below:

"Summer Girls" - LFO (1999)

This song has ALL THE SUMMER THINGS: Fun Dip, Cherry Coke, lemonade, and girls who wear Abercrombie & Fitch (which back in '99 was EVERYTHING).

"Thong Song" - Sisqo (1999)

Can you get any more summer than the beach party in this video?!

"Steal My Sunshine" - LEN (1999)

This music video was shot in Daytona Beach, Florida ... land of warm weather ... where no one can steal your sunshine.

"Hot in Herre" - Nelly (2002)

Thanks to Nelly for showing us an alternate pronunciation for the word "here" (hurr).

"Summertime" - DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince (1991)

Everyone on the first day of summer be like...

"California Gurls" - Katy Perry featuring Snoop Dogg (2010)

This song as all the makings of a great summer ... "daisy dukes/bikinis on top," "sun-kissed skin," and popsicles. 

"Miami" - Will Smith (1997)

It's always summer in Miami. 

"Party in the U.S.A." - Miley Cyrus (2009)

Because of Miley Cyrus, we have perhaps one of the best go-to Fourth of July anthems ever.

The summer beverage of choice may be rosé these days, but in this case, we're all about that red, red wine.

"Sweat (A La La La La Long)" - Inner Circle (1992)

"Sweat till you can't sweat no more" ... sounds like the definition of summer.

"Temperature" - Sean Paul (2005)

Speaking of sweating ... there's this hot summer jam, compliments of hitmaker extraordinaire, Sean Paul. Twelve years later.

"Turn Me On" - Kevin Lyttle (2004)

If this song was not blasting out of your car in 2004, you were doing summer wrong.

"Heaven" - DJ Sammy (2002)

Let's take it back to summer 15 YEARS AGO when THIS gem made its way to the radio airwaves.

This song was actually originally released in 1984 by Eagles vocalist and drummer Don Henley, but The Ataris turned into this more fast-paced version.

There are many things one learns during the summer months .. and in 2009, we learned that hips don't lie, thanks to Shakira.
