Back in February, I attended the No Kid Hungry Conference in Durham. Researchers and members of the school system exchanged ideas and programs that will help ensure all children are fed throughout the year. They also encouraged other community members to get involved with summer food distribution initiatives. The Firewürst “10,000 for 10,000” Campaign is a perfect example of stepping up and providing meals for children out of school for summer. Purchase a hotdog at Firewürst today until July 31st and help them reach their goal of donating $10,000 to the Food Bank of Central Eastern North Carolina. For more details on the campaign and Firewürst’s new Certified Angus Beef Hotdog checkout the article below.
Firewürst has committed to donating $10,000 to the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina to benefit the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina’s Stop Summer Hunger Program. The leading provider of premium flame-grilled sausages, burgers and hot dogs, will launch its “10,000 for 10,000” Summer Hunger Campaign. Beginning July 1 and running throughout the month, Firewürst has set a goal of serving 10,000 hot dogs and matching that sell with a $10,000 Food Bank donation, working to feed children in need across 34 counties.
Additionally, as part of this charitable effort and in honor of National Hot Dog Month, the restaurant will introduce a brand new dog – the Certified Angus Beef® hot dog – which is MSG, allergen and gluten free, made with a custom blend of all-natural spices and seasonings and free of artificial flavors and binders. Firewürst will now offer the highest quality all-beef hot dog in the Triangle!
A family-owned, father-and-son business, Firewürst is committed to helping feed children this summer. They believe that it is the responsibility of our community to ensure our children don’t go to bed hungry – not just our school systems. - MMI Public Relations
