North Carolina digs deep to make drug dealers start taking responsibility for the loss of lives from opioid users. So many cases have surfaced where individuals have overdosed or used drugs such as hydrocodone, oxycodone (Percocets), morphine etc. which led to their deaths but leaving no one to be blamed. Well, in order to begin trying to decrease the high numbers of opioid overdoses, Governor Roy Cooper has signed a law now known as the "death by distribution" act which will work in favor of prosecutors in the courtroom. This gives drug dealers a strong possibility in being charged with Second-Degree Murder serving up to 40 years in prison. The hope is to be able to have a hand in eliminating high-level drug dealers from being on the street.
