Evan and Sarah Carroll from Charleston were on their honeymoon swimming with sharks in the Bahamas when one of the nurse sharks bit down on Sarah’s arm! She struggled to get free, with her husband pulled her to safety at a nearby dock. She is now recovering at home, with some scars to show off on her forearm that have been healing pretty quickly. Nurse sharks are generally non-aggressive and docile but could possibly mistake you for food when you’re on their turf. Both Sarah and Evan say they’re still open to swimming with sharks sometime again in the future.
