North Carolina is a "right to work" state. But in North Carolina an employer has the right to terminate you for any reason or no reason at all. Employers only have to follow federal anti-discrimination guidelines but other than that can fire any worker for any reason or no reason at all. So, if you don’t make it in because of bad weather, unless your boss is reasonable or you have discussed it ahead of time he could fire you for not showing up!
