Couple Sells Everything for a Sailboat. Sinks on Day 2.

Tanner Broadwell and Nikki Walsh, a couple from Colorado, had a dream of sailing around the world.  They decided to sell everything they had, grab the dog and whatever supplies they needed and head off to the Caribbean.  48 hours later, the sailboat sank.

"We hit something in about 8 or 9 feet of water and it stopped the boat completely," Broadwell told TV station WFTS.

They only had enough time to grab IDs, passports and their Pug and as they called for help.

The Tampa Bay Times reported that a ship arrived to rescue them, but the water was too shallow for it to approach, so they had to jump into the water to get to safety, leaving their dreams sinking behind them.
