Things keep getting worse for Facebook, with a new revelation that they’ve been collecting the personal call histories of Android users with its Messenger and Facebook Lite apps.
The app collects call and texting histories, including who you're calling and how long you're talking to them. Facebook says they only collected data from people who "opted in" with the Messenger or Facebook Lite apps. They say the data is stored securely and isn't shared… Over 1.2 billion people use the Facebook Messenger app. The apps claim the data "lets friends find each other on Facebook" and helps create "a better experience". Facebook's stock has plummeted in recent days. The FTC has launched an investigation into its privacy practices.
