All Wake County Public School System schools will be closed for students on Monday, September 17 due to after effects of this weekend’s storm on facilities. Athletic and extracurricular events are also canceled. The safety of our students, parents and staff remains our top priority.
The scheduled weather make-up days are as follows:
- Traditional-Calendar Schools: Wednesday, November 21
- Modified-Calendar Schools: Saturday, October 27
- Wake Young Men’s and Women’s Leadership Academies: Friday, October 5
- Wake STEM Early College: Wednesday, November 21
- Vernon Malone Career and College Academy, Wake Early College of Health Sciences, North Wake College and Career Academy: Thursday, January 3
- Year-Round, Track 1: No make up day required
- Year-Round, Track 2: Saturday, December 15
- Year-Round, Track 3: Saturday, December 15
- Year-Round, Track 4: Saturday, December 15
- Barwell Road Elementary and Walnut Creek Elementary: Thursday, December 20
- Carroll Middle, East Garner Middle, East Millbrook Middle: Friday, February 15
- Fox Road Elementary: Friday, February 15
The district works from a list of make-up days approved in advance so families and staff can plan ahead. However, other make-up day options are under review given the unusual circumstances created by Hurricane Florence. Any changes will be communicated to all staff and families.
