Meghan Markle's late April due date is inching closer every day (another royal Taurus!), but don't expect to see the Duchess of Sussex posing with Baby Sussex mere hours after giving birth. Meghan and Prince Harry recently released a statement detailing their unique plan for the arrival of their little one and it's so different from the one Prince William and Kate Middleton followed. Despite intense backlash from the British tabloids after making this announcement, Meghan was actually under no pressure to do things the same way as her sister-in-law.
“People are delighted that Meghan is doing things differently,” royal author Ingrid Seward explained to People. “She was under no pressure to do things the same. It is completely understandable. The Lindo Wing has become too much of a circus.”
In addition to their desire to keep the birth more private than members of the royal family have previously done, the Lindo Wing is simply not a convenient choice for Meghan to give birth. Located in London, the maternity ward where Kate and Princess Diana welcomed their children is 25 miles away from Meghan and Harry's new home. While there's been some speculation Meghan and Harry will opt for a home birth, many believe the Duchess will give birth at St. Mary's Hospital.
The Palace will announce when Meghan goes into labor and then the birth will likely be announced via their official Instagram @SussexRoyal. Shortly after the baby's arrival, Meghan, Harry, and Baby Sussex will pose for photos on the grounds of Windsor Castle. One photographer, one TV camera, and one reporter will be on hand for the shoot.
Chances are Meghan and Harry will share more important details about Baby Sussex on their official Instagram, as well, such the royal baby's name any titles bestowed on the child by Queen Elizabeth. The odds-on favorite name for Baby Sussex is currently Elizabeth. The same professional oddsmakers accurately predicated Princess Charlotte's name four years ago, as well. With Meghan's BFF,Serena Williams, possibly revealing the baby's gender, as well, it seems like Harry and Meghan might really be expecting a girl.
