Britney Spears To Be Released From Mental Health Facility: Report

29th Annual GLAAD Media Awards - Arrivals

Britney Spears is expected to leave the mental health facility where she remained since late-March as early as today, TMZ has learned.

On Thursday morning (April 25), sources told the celebrity gossip outlet that the pop star, who entered treatment 30 days ago in light of her father Jamie Spears' life-threatening medical condition, is in a much better mental state than before she entered. However, TMZ indicates her doctors' biggest concerns now are finding the appropriate formula of medications to ensure progress for the pop star, as Britney supposedly quit taking her old mix of meds that may have triggered her mental health crisis.

TMZ reported earlier this week that doctors had been "adjusting her meds, which had lost their efficacy." The site also added: "Britney's mental health issues were [previously] stabilized with a cocktail of medicines that were designed specifically her. Over time, those meds were increasingly ineffective and doctors needed to create a new cocktail."

Although she appears to be doing "a lot better" with her current prescription, insiders close to the situation asserted Britney's stay at the facility was for the purpose of her mental health — not so she could receive a new combo of medications.

This news comes days after the 37-year-old took to Instagram to address the "#FreeBritney" protest, which insinuated she was being held at the facility against her will. Britney denied the speculation in a video post, calling the gossip "out of control" and assured followers she "just needed time to deal," and promised to be back "very soon."

Despite the rumor, the "Break the Ice" musician had been spotted out in the open amid treatment multiple times, most recently with boyfriend Sam Asghari on Easter Sunday (April 21).
