Selena Gomez Reacts To Scoring Third No. 1 Album With 'Rare'

Selena Gomez is celebrating her third number-one album!

Three proved to be the lucky number for the pop star, whose third studio album, Rare, made its ascent to the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart this week, according to the music outlet. Per Nielsen Music, the LP, which arrived on January 10 via Interscope Records, pulled in 112,000 equivalent album units in the week ending January 16.

Gomez, who playfully pled fans to help her reach the accomplishment last week with streams and sales, took to social media to express her gratitude for pulling through. “It’s officially out! I was a bit embarrassed asking so often for you to stream or buy my album. It felt inauthentic. Thank YOU so much for making something so personal to me be a moment I’ll never forget,” she wrote on Instagram. “All I truly desire is for you all to enjoy the music and spread the love 🦋🌈💫”

With the support of her first number-one single “Lose You to Love Me” as well as follow-ups “Look at Her Now," Rare’s sales comprised of 56,000 in streaming units, 53,000 in album sales and 3,000 in TEA units. Additionally, the record becomes Gomez’s sixth top 10 album on the Billboard 200. Prior to Rare, 2015’s Revival and 2013’s Stars Dance both went No. 1 in their respective debuts.

Selena Gomez is nominated at this year's iHeartRadio Music Awards in several categories, including Best Lyrics and Best Fan Army!
