Billie Eilish Undresses In Short Film On Body Image Double Standards

Billie Eilish isn't known for showing skin, but she flipped the script on the buzzworthy topic with her new short film.

On Tuesday (May 26), the alt-pop star, 18, dropped an almost-four-minute film titled "Not My Responsibility," which sees the superstar deliver a spoken word performance as she strips down her clothing. "Would you like me to be smaller? Weaker? Softer? Taller? Would you like me to be quiet? Do my shoulders provoke you? Does my chest? Am I my stomach? My hips?" she asks atop an ambient beat, before disappearing into a puddle of darkness. "The body I was born with, is it not what you wanted? If what I wear is comfortable, I am not a woman. If I shed the layers, I am a slut. Though you've never seen my body, you still judge it and judge me for it. Why?"

Hardcore Eilish fans will recognize the clip as part of her "Where Do We Go? World Tour," which kicked off in Miami, Florida, before being postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. At time of press, "Not My Responsibility" had already nabbed more than 4 million views and occupied the top spot on YouTube's trending list.

For her Calvin Klein shoot in 2019, Eilish spoke about her decision to wear baggy clothing, admitting "Nobody can have an opinion because they haven't seen what's underneath."
