'Sons Of Anarchy' Star Dimitri Diatchenko's Cause Of Death Revealed

Dimitri Diatchenko’s cause of death has been revealed.

The Chernobyl Diaries star died from an accidental overdose of fentanyl and valium, TMZ has learned. He was 52.

According to the Office of the Medical Examiner in Daytona Beach, Florida, Diatchenko’s official cause of death has been listed as “a combination of fentanyl and diazepam toxicity.” Additionally, the report showed the actor not only suffered from cardiomegaly (an enlarged heart) and had moderate coronary artery disease, but described his death as an accident following “illicit drug abuse with prescription drug use.”

As previously reported, Diatchenko was found dead on April 21 at his Daytona Beach home. Upon entering his residence, cops discovered him “unresponsive” and “kneeling with his face down in a reclining chair in his living room” and there were no signs of foul play.

Prior to his death, Diatchenko’s co-workers revealed he'd taken time off work after an electrocution accident on April 13. The last any of his co-workers heard from him was via text message on April 19, prompting one to alert police after having gone days without hearing from the actor. Even though the report showed he'd "sustained injury by electrocution [at 220 volts] while at work several days prior to being found dead at his home," the medical examiner excluded a delayed arrhythmia from the electrical shock as a cause of death.

Aside from Chernobyl Diaries, Diatchenko also starred in several television shows including Alias, Bones, CSI: Miami, Criminal Minds and Sons of Anarchy. He was also known to do voice work for several video games and animated projects such as Family Guy and Nickelodeon’s 2012 show, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
