Steelers Place Ben Roethlisberger, Three Others On COVID List

The undefeated Pittsburgh Steelers have placed Ben Roethlisberger, offensive lineman Jerald Hawkins, running back Jaylen Samuels, and linebacker Vince Williams on the restricted/COVID list. The move comes one day after tight end Vance McDonald was added to the list following a positive test. He must remain isolated for at least ten days under the NFL's coronavirus protocols.

All four players were considered to be high-risk close contacts and must isolate for five days. They will not be allowed into the Steelers' facility but will be able to remotely participate in meetings as the team prepares to host the Cincinnati Bengals this Sunday.

All four players could be cleared to play on Sunday if they do not test positive during the next five days.

The Steelers have been in the intensive COVID-19 protocol since last week after Baltimore Ravens defensive back Marlon Humphrey tested positive following their game on November 1.

Under the intensive protocols, all players, coaches, general managers, assistant coaches, and other football operations employees must be tested for COVID-19 every day and receive a negative result before they can enter the team's facility. In addition, players and coaches must wear masks at all times, even during outdoor practices.
