Gypsy Rose Blanchard is going to be a mom as she and boyfriend Ken Urker are expecting their first child together in the new year.
Blanchard made the surprise announcement in a video on her YouTube channel on Tuesday (July 9), sharing the exciting, "completely unexpected" news and details of her pregnancy journey so far. In the video, the 32-year-old Gypsy Rose: Life After Lockup star address the "rumors [that] have been flying around for quite some time" and confirmed that she is 11 weeks pregnant with her first child with and Urker, 31, per People.
"Ken and I are expecting our very first child come January of 2025. We're both very excited," she said, adding, "This was not planned at all, it was completely unexpected, but we're both very excited to take on this new journey of parenthood."
While touching on concerns about whether she is ready to be a mom, Blanchard said she doesn't know "if anyone's really ready to be a mother" before it happens. She got emotional while explaining how excited she is to give her child "all the things" she wanted from her own mother.
"All the things that I wanted in a mother, I want to give to this baby," she said, adding, "I am a mother now, I am happy, and I just want to be a good mother for my child. I want to be everything my mother wasn't."
The happy news comes months after Blanchard rekindled her relationship with Urker, whom she called her "first love" while speaking to People in May, following her divorce from ex-husband Ryan Anderson, whom she married in 2022 while still behind bars. The pair first sparked a romance while Blanchard, a vicim of Munchausen by proxy, was serving time in prison for her role in the 2015 killing of her mother Dee Dee Blanchard. Urker proposed in 2018 but they called it quits prior to her release from prison in 2023. After her split from Anderson in March, the two have seemingly reignited their romance after first reuniting as friends.
