Pancakes are a classic breakfast and brunch staple for a reason. Easily customizable and hard to mess up as even the less-the-stellar options can be greatly improved with a generous dollop of syrup. Whether you prefer your flapjacks griddled on a greasy diner cooktop or beautifully curated and served with a tart compote at an artisanal shop, you're in luck because there's plenty of establishments around the state dishing out delicious stacks of pancakes.
According to a list compiled by Taste of Home, the "best pancakes" in all of North Carolina can be found at Joey's Pancake House. This popular Maggie Valley eatery serves delicious breakfast dishes, including "specialty pancakes" like lemon poppyseed, bacon pancakes, Reese's, banana nut and orange blackberry ricotta, to name just a few. Joey's Pancake House, located at 4309 Soco Road, has a 4.8 star rating on Google and more than 3,400 reviews.
