Gracie Abrams is excited for fans to hear her new music.
Abrams shared some insight about her upcoming single "Hit the Wall," out May 14, while speaking with Vogue red carpet livestream co-host La La Anthony at the 2026 Met Gala on Monday (May 4). Abrams announced the new single on May 1, sharing a sneak peek of the track and giving a glimpse at the moody artwork.
The "That's So True" singer, 26, who wowed in a gold Chanel look inspired by a Gustav Klimt painting, per Elle, explained to Anthony that the track will be a tease of what's to come in her "new chapter."
"It's the introduction to this new chapter, and I feel grateful and relieved that this is the introduction," she said. "I love the song so much and I love the people I made it with. It feels embodied and that feels good."
She continued, "I'm excited for it to belong to everyone else."
The theme for the 2026 Met Gala was "Costume Art," coinciding with the Costume Institute's spring 2026 exhibition, which "explores depictions of the dressed body across The Met's vast collection, pairing garments with artworks to reveal the inherent relationship between clothing and the body," according to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Guests were invited to follow the dress code "Fashion is Art," which The Met stated allows them to "express their own relationship to fashion as an embodied art form and celebrate the countless depictions of the dressed body throughout art history."
This year's event, which is a charity event and fundraiser for the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute, was co-chaired by Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams and former Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour. Check out the best looks from the garden-inspired red carpet.
