FDA Warns That Black Licorice is Actually Bad for You (and Basically Gross)

Am I biased here? I mean, sure. I don't like black licorice. Seriously though, does anyone?

Apparently people eat enough of the stuff for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to issue a warning that too much black licorice can cause swelling, muscle weakness, and irregular heartbeats!! Yeah, you can blame that on the sweetening compound, 'Glycyrrihizin,' which can cause your Potassium levels to fall.

But hey, here's the good news - Now you have an actual reason to politely decline when someone offers you black licorice this Halloween! Sorry, can't have it... I don't want to break my own heart this Halloween. *shrug emoji*
