September 'Corn Moon' This Month Happens Only Once Every 3 Years

Normally the September moon is referred to as the Harvest Moon. The Harvest Moon is so called because of how close it is to the autumn equinox. This year, however, the Corn Moon occurs in September. This happens once every three years when the Harvest Moon occurs in October. 'This full Moon name is attributed to Native Americans because it marked when corn was supposed to be harvested, 'Farmer's Almanac,' via Fox 4 News. 'At the peak of harvest, farmers can work late into the night by the light of this Moon.' This year, the Corn Moon will peak on Wednesday, Sept. 2
