Amazon to Hire 100,000 More Employees

On Monday, the retail giant said the new workers will be utilized for packing, shipping and sorting orders both part-time and full-time. The company also said the new jobs aren't related to holiday hiring, but rather a surge of online ordering due to COVID-19. 175,000 new employees were already hired earlier this year as the company reported record profit and revenue between April and June. According to Alicia Boler Davis, who oversees Amazon's warehouses, some cities will offer a $1,000 sign-on bonus for new employees this time around. With the holidays and Prime Day approaching, Amazon will likely hire even more employees in the future!
