Selena Gomez to Be Honored at Hispanic Heritage Awards

The singer will receive the Arts Award at the 33rd annual event during Hispanic Heritage Month. Jose Antonio Tijerino, president and CEO of the Hispanic Heritage Foundation, is “thrilled” to recognize Gomez. He went on to express his appreciation for her global impact through her art and “courage as an advocate for mental health.” Gomez has been very open and transparent with fans about her mental health struggles. She revealed earlier this year that she is bipolar. 'There’s power in vulnerability and Selena has made it okay to talk about difficult issues we all deal with, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Selena is a role model for so many reasons,' Jose Antonio Tijerino, via ‘Billboard’. Bad Bunny and Jessica Alba will also be honored this year. Fans can tune in to PBS on October 6!
