"Oystering" Is The least Dating Trend. Inspired by Adele!

A hard breakup can make you want to hide away from the rest of the world and really let yourself go. You get so depressed and down you start to think,“what’s the point?! I’ll never find love ever again.”That’s one option post-breakup. The other option is to embrace being newly single in a way that dating experts are now referring to as “oystering.”

Those who are excited to get back into the dating game see the world as their oyster! Oystering refers to the realization that newly singles are free to date who they want, how they want, and when they want.

Adeleis actually being credited for inspiring the trend with her recent album “30” serving as its anthem. In the album, Adele opens up about her divorce and the healing she had to go through to get to where she is now. “30” is about taking your power back as a single individual and it shares the same idea that oystering does.

  • According to research from the dating app Badoo, almost half of singles (46%) say they’re excited to start dating again while 50% are “ready to get 2022 off to a strong start romantically.”
  • “Dating is daunting after a relationship, but it doesn’t need to be,” saysSophie Mann,Badoo's global dating expert. “Ultimately, dating should be fun, and what better way to get over a breakup than having some fun? We’ve seen many people getting back into dating, and we predict this new trend of seizing the 'dating' day will shine through as many singletons are feeling confident to go out there and get what they want."
