She's a Grammy Winner y'all! Sabrina Carpenter took home her very first Grammy on Sunday (February 2), and one of her biggest cheerleaders during the night was her friend Taylor Swift.
After amazing the crowd at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles with a theatrical performance filled with hilarious mishaps, Carpenter was award the trophy for Best Pop Vocal album. As she made her way to the stage, Swift excitedly jumped up in joy for her friend and also patted her frequent collaborator Jack Antonoff on the back, who was one of the producers on the album. Swift's support for Carpenter goes way back, and the "Espresso" singer was even one of the openers on Swift's Eras Tour.
Carpenter was surprised to get the honor, telling the crowd that she was still out of breath from her performance and "really was not expecting" to win the award. She was overwhelmed with emotions to receive her first Grammy, noting that she was "gonna cry."
During her speech, she thanked her friends and family for their support and her collaborators who helped make the album, and recognized her fellow nominees, Billie Eilish, Ariana Grande, Chappell Roan and Swift.
"And all those nominees that were just on the screen are some of my favorite artists in the world, and I can't believe I'm nominated agains them, or even in this room right now," she said, adding, "You have no idea how much I love you and how much this album means to me."
