The Tree from "The Shawshank Redemption" is Gone

The tree from the end of "The Shawshank Redemption" is gone.  It was pretty much destroyed by a couple storms in the last few years, and the owner finally hauled it away so he could farm the land.  He says he's going to use the wood to make a table or a bench.

The tree where Red finds Andy's note at the end of "The Shawshank Redemption" is no more.  The oak had stood in a field in Mansfield, Ohio for 200 years.

But it was rotting in the middle, and in 2011, part of it was knocked down during a storm.  It suffered even more damage in a storm last summer.
