What I wouldn't do to get paid to travel the world and take pictures of myself while visiting foreign countries. That's exactly what Influencers Raquel and Miguel, from Portugal, do and a recent photo shoot has some on social media a bit ticked off.
There over 200,000 followers on Instagram were not amused or impressed with a photo that was taken on a train heading into Sri Lanka recently. The bloggers took the controversial shot while on a train that was traveling through the small town of Ella. The shot has Raquel leaning out of a train and being kissed on the forehead as she leans her entire body out of the train and holds on by clutching the carriage’s rails. The train was traveling on a bridge, and one slip could have resulted in Raquel falling down a huge ravine. Many called it totally irresponsible of the couple. Others claim that this kind of thing will encourage other's to take unnecessary chances like they did.
The couple has claimed the train was “moving super slow” and said they “respect everyone’s opinions, but it’s not risky.” A sobering study published in the Journal of Family Medicine and Primary Care last year found that some 259 people worldwide have died while taking selfies since 2011.
You decide if the pictures were worth the risk.
