Fans are bummed that the biggest annual K-pop concert featuring acts from South Korea has been postponed.
Blame the coronavirus, which has spread throughout South Korea, which has reported about 1,000 infections and 10 deaths. The 18th annual Korea Times Music Festival scheduled in two months at the Hollywood Bowl has been postponed “due to the increasing uncertainty threat of coronavirus.” (The Hollywood Reporter)
A virus expert from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention warned that an outbreak in the United States is almost certain and Americans ought to prepare for a “disruption to people’s day-to-day lives.”Dr. Nancy Messonnier said on Tuesday, “It is not a question of if coronavirus will spread through the United States but a question of when and how many people will have severe illness.”
Dr. Messonnier suggested to put plans in place to work from home if possible and also prep for closed child daycare centers, canceled sporting events and to avoid places where large numbers of people congregate. (Time)
