The chairman of the American Conservative Union has revealed that he interacted with a 55-year-old man infected with coronavirus before shaking hands with Donald Trump.
Matt Schlapp said he feels 'healthy as a horse' after the 'incidental contact' with the man who is now recovering in New Jersey following the event in Washington DC from February 27 to March 1.
However on Sunday Senator Ted Cruz and Congressman Paul Gosar said they they're going into self-quarantine after they came into similar contact with the same man.
Cruz said that he had a brief conversation with the person infected and shook hands.
The Texas Republican said the encounter last "less than a minute" and he's "not experiencing any symptoms and I feel fine and healthy."
Gosar, a Republican from Arizona, said he was with the "individual for an extended period of time, and we shook hands several times." He also said he didn't have an symptoms, but would be self-quarantining "out of an abundance of caution." (USA Today)
