Wake County Public Schools officials report that all field trips will be canceled for students and staff until further notice.
Lisa Luten, the Wake County Public Schools communications director says all trips are canceled “indefinitely."
The cancellations come on the heels of Gov. Roy Cooper declaring a state of emergency amid the coronavirus outbreak.
So far, 44 people in North Carolina have been tested for COVID-19 and seven people have tested positive for the virus.
Earlier today, Trinity Academy in Raleigh canceled school for students and staff until further notice. There is no word on whether other schools in the county will follow suit.
