The same line of storms that brought tornadoes to Mississippi on Easter Sunday will impact our area today.
Severe thunderstorms are expected with damaging straight-line winds gusting over 60 mph. There may also be flooding and large hail. In addition, there is the possibility tornadoes in central North Carolina, however, the most likely place to see an isolated tornado will be in the sandhills and west of the sandhills.
With the high winds, significant tree damage is possible, including falling branches and some uprooted trees, will result. Numerous power outages will also be likely.
