UPS, Microsoft, the American Hospital Association and Kaiser Permanente are introducing an app that will let people donate personal protective equipment more efficiently.
Today, the coalition of private and nonprofit organizations announced the "Protecting People Everywhere" initiative which works directly with the HealthEquip app to ensure the donations go straight to hospitals in need.
According to reports, the service connects donors with hospitals that are most in need based on the amount of staff, the number of COVID-19 patients and other factors. The coalition is primarily asking for gloves, medical-grade respirators, goggles and gowns, noting that there is no minimum to donate.
For now, people looking to donate are encouraged to visit HealthEquip. An app will be announced soon.
