Stories of Ellen DeGeneres's alleged meanness continue to surface -- and the TV host has had enough.
A source tells Us Weekly, “Ellen is at the end of her rope. She thought this was all just sour grapes from a few haters. But it’s not a passing thing — the hits just keep coming.”
The floodgates opened in February when beauty influencer Nikkie deJager accused the comedian of being "cold and distant" during her January appearance onThe Ellen DeGeneres Show. In April, comedian KevinT. Porter asked people to share their stories about Ellen being "one of the meanest people alive." He got more than 2,000 responses. Then, this month, crew members began to speak out.
Another source tellsUs Weeklythat Ellen has been leaning on wife, Portia deRossi, for support. “Ellen’s so grateful to have Portia in her life as a soulmate and a sounding board, but that doesn’t mean it’s been easy. Their home life is strained right now… Her real friends never ask her to be funny or tell jokes. They accept her as is.”
But the controversy hasn't affected Ellen's ratings. A third insider says, “Ellen’s been in our homes for so long, it’ll take a lot more than a bodyguard and a blogger to change how people feel about her. Her best response is just being happy Ellen on the show every day.”
