As the search continues for Naya Rivera on California’s Lake Piru, her extended family is coming to grieve her apparent demise. But more on that in a minute. That family – including Naya’s ex Ryan Dorsey – and the Twitterverse have joined forces in attacking Lea Michele. As you’ll recall, Michelehas been chastised online after being called out for some very bad behavior in the past.
Now? People have been horrifically pulling rounds of “why didn’t Lea die instead” bullying on social media. For her part, Michele has checked out of Twitter. While her Instagram still exists, it hasn’t been updated since her last apology post.
The “Glee” family is having none of it – with Rivera’s former co-stars Amber Riley and Kevin McHale taking to Twitter to clap back at those suggesting Rivera’s friends aren’t mourning publicly enough. “No one owes anyone online a performance of grief,” Amber said. “This is very real and devastating. Focus on Naya and her family. Not us. We don’t matter right now.”
Speaking of Naya’s family, her mother, father, brother, and ex-husband have all made the tripto the lake for themselves. And while Heather Morris has offered to help in the search, officials say that the water is so dangerous that only trained divers can go in. At this point, they’ve also searched the cabins around the lake. But Ventura County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Shannon King said, “There’s no evidence to say she ever left the water.” In his estimate, this is just a tragic drowning.
Also, Tahj Mowry paid tribute to his first love in a heartfelt IG post. “My sweet Naya – to say that I am devastated would be an understatement,” he said. After saying that they grew up together and experienced several firsts together, he said, “I will never not think of you. No woman has ever measured up to what you gave me or how you made feel. I’ve never liked to admit it, but I have never stopped loving you.”Tia and Tamara Mowry’s little brother also extended prayers to her parents, siblings, ex-husband, and her son.
