Bill Gates might be the man who saves TikTok in the U.S. The company said Sunday that it's continuing talks to buy the popular video app in the U.S. and has even had talks with Donald Trump, who has threatened to shut down TikTok.
Microsoft said in a statement, "Microsoft fully appreciates the importance of addressing the President’s concerns. It is committed to acquiring TikTok subject to a complete security review and providing proper economic benefits to the United States, including the United States Treasury."

Microsoft said it will "move quickly to pursue discussions" with TikTok's Chinese owners ByteDance. It's looking to complete talks no later than September 15th. Then again, Microsoft said the talks are only preliminary and there's no promise a sale will actually happen.
