Yet another day of flight cancellations for frustrated travelers. The massive winter storm across the country is cause of it all and because of it, thousands more flights have been cancelled. Southwest Airlines had to cancel 60% of their flights today (Tuesday, December 27th) and 70% yesterday.
The U.S. Department of Transportation tweeted about the handling of cancellations by Southwest saying it was "unacceptable".
On Monday, December 26th, Southwest offered passengers a shuttle to one of their hubs in Nashville or Atlanta after cancelling dozens of flights at RDU. Most opted to postpone their trips until the end of the week.
